After completing my Ph.D., I became interested in problem-based learning while pursuing a degree in education. During the final stages , I focused primarily on developing educational games using programming in the R environment. After taking a break from my academic career, I founded my own company, Herp Trips. Although centered on ecotourism at first, Herp Trips always had a strong emphasis on research and education. The company's mission was to connect people of all backgrounds and ages with the ecology and natural history of amphibians and reptiles through direct field experiences. During the tours, I provided detailed information about each species we encountered. Eventually, I stopped leading the tours to pursue other career goals but kept Herp Trips active in the educational field.

Herpetology field course

In 2021 I taught my first field course. It was held entirely at RPPN Trápaga, was attended by 18 participants who engaged in different sampling activities involving amphibians, reptiles, and small mammals. The course included theoretical instruction on the methods that would later be applied in the field. The classes covered the following topics: (1) the scientific contribution of natural history; (2) the structure of research projects; (3) the importance of fauna inventories; (4) methods of collecting amphibians, reptiles, and small mammals; and (5) the use of photography as a scientific tool.

Herpetology online course

This course compiles much of the experience I accumulated over more than 10 years as a field herpetologist. The main objective is to empower undergraduate biological sciences students interested in herpetology become more independent. The course is divided into three modules: (1) the basic aspects of the natural history of the target organisms (anuran amphibians and Squamates), (2) sampling methods, and (3) data organization and analysis. Additionally, I have included extra content on the application of scientific photography in herpetology.

Natural sciences

I currently teach Natural sciences at a middle school funded by the São Paulo state government in Brazil. In this discipline, I have explored themes like ecosystems, matter and energy, natural phenomena, astronomy, and technology, fostering scientific understanding and its connection to society. The Manoel Ferraz School follows the Full-Time Education Program, which serves middle and high school students in extended 7- or 9-hour daily sessions. This program is designed for placing the students' Life Project at at the heart of their learning experience.
